So, ever made artworks that technically seemed to fulfil all the criteria but which didn't make you feel anything and hence made you dissatisfied? Well I feel like that about what I came up with after a year's hard work. Sure, i might have gotten a good grade on my folio...but it was not what i like my art to be.

Lately, I'd come to think of the artwork i used to make - artwork that was pretty...of landscapes and people and anything else i'd drawn or painted from a photo or life - boring. Insignificant. Meaningless.
I wanted to make art that SAID something. That expressed my views. My ideas. My imaginings. I thought that that would mean it had meaning.

I've realised it doesn't work that way. It lost its spirit. Its spontaneity. And that makes me sad.

It probably comes from not ever having liked my style of illustrating. I can never draw what I imagine. It's like i can't see it clearly enough to be able to reproduce it on paper.

I realised though, that it's much more important that i make visually appealing art. Art that is beautiful. Art that is emotive. Art that has a mood!

And so, I'm going to try something new. I'm going to make beautiful paintings of simple things, and add captions to give them more meaning. I can manage words xD.

Just wanted to share that brainwave :). Thought it was somewhat significant. For me, anyway. It got me excited :D. I've been rather confused about my art direction lately...So this is nice :).

Hi. I had a look, and by the looks of things all i did was go "Edit Settings and Profile" then over at the left-hand column clicked on "Userpage Display" under "Public". From there if you look at where it says "deviantID" there should be a drop down menu. From there all i did was select the image of my room (the title was listed). I presume it was there because when i submitted the image to begin with, i submitted it under the ID category.
I hope that helped!
xo.
